Downtown Tree Trek

The City of San Dimas will be hosting two Downtown San Dimas Tree Treks on  January 21, 2012 (Rain-date Jan. 28) and February 4, 2012 (Rain-date Feb. 25). The one mile hike through downtown San Dimas will take us to some of the most unique and outstanding trees in the city. You will meet the famous Cunningham Araucaria, which is the national champion and largest known tree of its species in the United States. There will be two hikes each date; one for adults followed by one for families. We will meet at Rhoades Park, 210 W. Bonita Ave. at 9:00am for the adult walk and 11:00 am for the family walk. Kids and families of all ages welcome. Please bring water, wear comfortable walking shoes, and a hat. If it is sprinkling, bring an umbrella but if it is actually raining, we will postpone the trek until the specified rain dates. There will be a limit of 15 people per trek, so registration will be necessary.

For more information and to register please contact Municipal Arborist, Deborah Day at (909) 394-6273.
