SAN DIMAS WOMAN COMPLETES 1000 MILE RIDE

SAN DIMAS — On June 18, Jenna Underwood, a recently graduated Firefighter Cadet, jumped on her bike and rode over 1005 miles from Coos Bay, Oregon to San Dimas, her home town.

Jenna made the ride to help raise money for the Coos Bay Firefighters memorial.

On November 25, 2002 three firefighters died in the line of duty while battling a blaze in the Farwest Truck and Auto Parts store in Coos Bay, Oregon. The three firefighters were trapped under debris when the roof collapsed.

To insure their sacrifice will never be forgotten, Mayor Joe Benetti has charged the Firefighters Memorial Committee to develop a suitable memorial.

Jenna has hopes of raising a minimum of $3,000.00 with her ride to assist in the completion of the memorial. Any and all donations will be gratfully received and will go directly to the Coos Bay Firefighter Memorial. You may send check, money order, or credit card info to: Firefighters Memorial, c/o City of Coos Bay Finance Department, 500 Central Avenue, Coos Bay,Oregon 97420.
