Sacramento — Assembly Member Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) announced today that Assembly Bill 2777 passed the Assembly with unanimous support. Current law makes it a misdemeanor for anyone to wrongly represent a veterans’ organization by either selling or manufacturing the organization’s insignia without the organization’s request, or falsely claiming that an event is sponsored by the organization. AB 2777 will revise and expand the list of veterans’ organizations which are protected by this law. |
By updating this code, AB 2777 will protect veterans’ organizations from false representation by non-veterans. Assembly Member Huff stated, “The rights of our veterans are of great importance to me. AB 2777 will further protect veterans from being falsely represented, and I am honored to carry this legislation in support of those who have contributed so much to our nation.” |
